Message From Archbishop

His Grace. Most. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos
Archbishop of Thiruvalla

“Our mission is to draw everyone to that Supreme Joy whom we call God, the Almighty. One must be able to see the Supreme in his/her fellow beings. When each one becomes responsible and respectful, the society will become very positive and loveable and livable. Thus people will live in peace and harmony.”

MESSAGE FROM ARCHBISHOP KOORILOS
Educational Vision of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church Archdiocese of Tiruvalla
Our belief is that the universe and everything in it including man are created by God. It goes very well with our Indian ethos of recognizing God in everything (pullilum poovilum; thoonilum thurumpilum). Of course, we don’t subscribe to pantheism; but we believe that one learns more and more about the Almighty as one begins to discover the mysteries of the universe. Education is seen in this context, namely, of understanding God through the universe and the mysteries it contains. God who created everything found that everything was good.

The main aim of our educational ministry is to discover the beauty of God’s creation and to make those discoveries useful and beneficial for human beings who are the crown of creation. Thus language and history tell us about culture and the growth of human society; science and mathematics help us to improve the human living condition and the world around. Through education we intend to introduce our students to this wonder of creation, culture and science.

We believe that children of today are the promises of tomorrow. Investment in improving their spiritual, moral, physical, emotional, social and intellectual abilities is of immense value. Students who learn to respect themselves, their colleagues, teachers, nature, civil norms, etc., are going to be very promising for our Nation. Our future is in our young students.

The children are inspired to love God and man and are encouraged to imbibe qualities like, politeness, punctuality and cleanliness. Our educational institutions have always been trying to bring out the best in all students. Facilities are provided to help the young minds to dream high, pursue their taste and interests, etc. We also emphasize the need for social awareness, social justice, true patriotism, etc., in the young minds. The people of India speak different languages and follow different customs and traditions; yet we feel that we are one. This feeling of oneness makes India a strong nation. This we want to foster and nurture in the minds of children.
